Cross country
Our KS2 runners went to Stonar School today, to take part in their Cross Country event.
Y3/4 ran a distance of 1.2km, while Y5/6 runners ran 1.7km. Teddy came a phenomenal 3rd place... what a fantastic effort. Everyone dug deep in their events and were all so proud of their achievements. Well done everyone! We are so proud of them all.
Dance workshop
Some of our children went to the Trowbridge Civic Centre to take part in a dance workshop. They had the opportunity to explore movement through dance and expressing themselves with batons, hoops, feathers and different materials. They also sampled some yoga which they found calming. Their behaviour was impeccable and they were a real credit to the school. Well done!

Key Stage 1 Dance Fest
A small group of Year 1 and 2 children performed a dance routine in the Bath Forum for the West Wiltshire Dance Festival. We are so incredibly proud of them! They danced so well - for some this was their first time on a stage! (Although you wouldn't know it as they were amazing).
Well done all!

Dance Festival
We attended The West Wilts Dance Festival 2025. The theme this year was 'It's in The Game'. Miss Dally and the dance club created a dance all about how children mix up games and create new ones. The children did an amazing job and we are all so proud of them. Well done! Miss Dally would also like to take a moment to congratulate Bethany for winning the Chris Bell award. This award is given to children who go above and beyond in dance. Bethany's determination and motivation flourished during the lead up to Dance Fest 2024.

Arts week
We held an Arts Week in school. All classes spent each afternoon with different teachers doing arts-based activities that are not part of our usual curriculum. To practice their PE skills, the children took part in a dance workshop. There has been a lovely atmosphere in school and the children have enjoyed participating in new experiences and learning new skills.

Tri-golf taster sessions
Dave Stockley came in to give the children in Years 2-5 the chance to experience tri-golf! They learned how to hold a club and swing accurately to hit a ball at a target and played some fun games to practice their skills.
Year 5 and 6 football tournament
Our Year 5 and 6 school football team took part in their first match of the tournament at John of Gaunt on Thursday after school. They had a great start to the tournament, played fantastically as a team and ended on a 3-0 win!
Year 6 residential to Plas Pencelli, Wales
Our Year 6 children have had the most wonderful (if a little wet!) week on their Year 6 residential visit to Plas Pencelli in Wales. They have taken part in a range of activities including climbing, canoeing and even the dreaded dingle descent! Thank you to the staff and other adults who accompanied them this week and thank you to the children for being so resilient, supportive and enthusiastic!

Athlete visit
We had a visit from Natalie Powell, an Olympic Judo champion! Natalie is one of the most established judoka on the British team. The Welsh fighter has medalled at every major championship outside of the Olympics. She was Commonwealth champion back in 2014 and was Britain’s last world number 1 ranked Olympic fighter when she was promoted to the top of the rankings back in 2017. She was also the first British female to be ranked number one in the world too. She worked with each class and then delivered an amazing and inspiring assembly where she showed off some of her judo moves. The children and Miss McEleny were very brave!!
Thank you to those of you who have already returned your sponsor money and forms. Please can any outstanding monies be into school by the end of term.
