School Day

Before school

7.40am Breakfast Club

Children booked into Breakfast Club can arrive at school from 7.40am onwards via the hall door.

Start of the school day

8.40am

For children not attending Breakfast Club, the school opens at 8.40am when the children come in to do morning activities.  The front and back gate will be open, and children are encouraged to come through the gate on their own to make their way to the classroom.  So that the school day can start promptly, we ask that should you need to speak to the class teacher, you do so when collecting your child at the end of the school day.  A member of staff will be on each gate in the morning to welcome the children and to take any urgent messages.

We appreciate our new reception children may require some extra help coming into school, so parents are allowed to accompany their children though the gate.  The class teachers will update you if there any any changes to this once the children are settled in.

Children should not arrive at school before 8.40am as there is no supervision for pupils before school unless attending Breakfast Club.  We appreciate that on occasions you may be late and when this happens please report to the office via the main entrance where your child will be marked present and taken to their classroom.

During the school day

During the school day the main gate is kept closed and the pedestrian access leading from Cranmore Close is locked.  Visitors to the school (including parents) are requested to use the main pedestrian gate on Brook Road.  All visitors to the school must report to the school office where they will be asked to sign in.

End of the school day

The school day ends at 3.05pm  The pedestrian access from Cranmore Close will be unlocked at approximately 3pm.  KS1 children must be collected from their classrooms by a parent/carer and KS2 children are dismissed from the outer doors of their classroom leading on the playground.  Pupils who have not been collected at the normal time will be taken to the office or to after-school club if the office is not staffed.

Children in Year 5 and 6 may walk home on their own; if you wish your child to do this, please give written permission to the admin office.
