World book day activities
We have had a great week celebrating World Book Day! We kicked off the week with our snuggly stories day and the children came to school in their pyjamas and loungewear and had a day of reading and sharing stories with other classes. After school we had our annual bedtime stories session where we shared stories, hot chocolate and biscuits by a roaring fire! Then throughout the week we had other activities to share our love of reading, topped off with parents in to read on Friday and Mrs Trebble's book sale after school! What a great week we have had!

Arts Week
We held an Arts Week in school. All classes spent each afternoon with different teachers doing arts-based activities that are not part of our usual curriculum. To practice their English skills, the children created their own comic strips, took part in a theatre workshop and had a creative writing session. There has been a lovely atmosphere in school and the children have enjoyed participating in new experiences and learning new skills.

Bath Literature Festival
The Year 6 children enjoyed their trip to see poet, Matt Goodfellow, at Bath Children’s Literature Festival. They got to hear a selection of his poems being performed and even enjoyed lunch outside in front of the beautiful buildings in Bath in the sunshine! What a great day!

Children in Years 2,3 and 4 had an awesome afternoon with author, Stuart Heritage. He read with them, answered their great questions and designed kaiju (strange monsters) with them. Stuart also spent lunchtime in the library meeting the other year groups and giving out a LOT of stickers! Thank you to those people who came along to the book signing after school and thank you Stuart for coming to see us again!

The children in Years 1-5 have all had the chance to visit Trowbridge Library. They were greeted by Tracey Hagar at the library who read them some stories and then they had the chance to look at the books and even choose one to bring home! Thank you to the library staff for welcoming us once again!
