Pantomine fun!
The whole school was so lucky to have a visit from West End in Schools Pantomines with their production of 'Scroogical'. We were treated to some fantastic singing and acting and the children even got the chance to join in. Thanks for FOWCs for providing this super opportunity!

Book Fair
This week, we were delighted to host our Scholastic Book Fair, bringing a wonderful selection of exciting books to buy. The enthusiasm from our school community has been fantastic, and we are thrilled that the event will help us add even more high-quality books to our school library. A huge thank you to all those who visited the fair, browsed the shelves, and made a purchase. Your support directly helps us continue to foster a love of reading across the school.
Phase 2 visit to the Egg Theatre
Year 3 and 4 took the train to Bath to attend a theatre performance at The Egg Theatre. For many, this was the first time they had experienced live theatre and there was a lot of excitement. They watched a play called The Shivers which was a high octane action-comedy for young audiences about spies, lies, and learning to trust your gut.

Reception visit to Trowbridge Library
Reception finally got their chance to visit Trowbridge library this week after the other year groups visited back in September. They walked there (what brilliant walking!), met Tracy and listened to some super funny stories then explored the books the library had. At the end, they were able to borrow a book using their own library card! What a wonderful trip. Thank you so much to Trowbridge Library who have been brilliant in helping us on our reading for pleasure journey this year and last. We can’t wait to visit again next year!

Teachers developing reading
The teachers headed into Bath after school yesterday for some special reading for pleasure training courtesy of Hannah at Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights. They heard about the latest amazing releases in children’s literature, got to browse their brilliant children’s section (whilst it was totally empty!) and all came away with a very exciting new book for their classes to enjoy next term. Thank you Mr B’s for having us! 📚
World book day activities
We have had a great week celebrating World Book Day! We kicked off the week with our snuggly stories day and the children came to school in their pyjamas and loungewear and had a day of reading and sharing stories with other classes. After school we had our annual bedtime stories session where we shared stories, hot chocolate and biscuits by a roaring fire! Then throughout the week we had other activities to share our love of reading, topped off with parents in to read on Friday and Mrs Trebble's book sale after school! What a great week we have had!

Arts Week
We held an Arts Week in school. All classes spent each afternoon with different teachers doing arts-based activities that are not part of our usual curriculum. To practice their English skills, the children created their own comic strips, took part in a theatre workshop and had a creative writing session. There has been a lovely atmosphere in school and the children have enjoyed participating in new experiences and learning new skills.

Books galore!
A huge, huge thank you to everyone who bought a book or donated a book from our library wish list. We have been absolutely blown away by your generous donations and couldn’t be more grateful. We have a lot of happy children who cannot wait to get reading our new books 📚.
Bath Literature Festival
The Year 6 children enjoyed their trip to see poet, Matt Goodfellow, at Bath Children’s Literature Festival. They got to hear a selection of his poems being performed and even enjoyed lunch outside in front of the beautiful buildings in Bath in the sunshine! What a great day!
Children in Years 2,3 and 4 had an awesome afternoon with author, Stuart Heritage. He read with them, answered their great questions and designed kaiju (strange monsters) with them. Stuart also spent lunchtime in the library meeting the other year groups and giving out a LOT of stickers! Thank you to those people who came along to the book signing after school and thank you Stuart for coming to see us again!
The children in Years 1-5 have all had the chance to visit Trowbridge Library. They were greeted by Tracey Hagar at the library who read them some stories and then they had the chance to look at the books and even choose one to bring home! Thank you to the library staff for welcoming us once again!
