Our learning in Barn Owls
- We have really wowed everyone with our drawing club pictures and codes. We have shown incredible imagination and writing skills.
-

- We have started a new maths scheme and have been doing really well with our subitising.
-

- We have started Drawing club! We have wowed everyone with our creativity and enthusiasm for drawing and writing codes.
-

- We used the climbing apparatus in gymnastics for the first time.
-

- We have been learning number bonds to 5. We learnt that number bonds are pairs of numbers that go together to make a number. We played number bond tennis and joined in with a number bond song.
-

- We have been practicing our Nativity on the stage for the first time. We did a great job!
-

- We have started using the DT bench! We have learned how to be in the DT area safely, wearing protective goggles, walking and always listening to the adult. We learnt how to hammer nails safely onto tap tap boards.
-

- We have been working really hard on our sentence writing skills. We thought about our finger spaces and the sounds that we need in each word - well done!
-

- We have been learning all about Remembrance Sunday. We took part in the minutes silence, they painted poppies, made poppies out of playdough and used collage to make their own poppies.
-

- We learnt how to be good talk partners by turning and facing each other, asking if our friend would like to go first and showing good eye contact when listening. We did really well and had great discussions about our achievements and the things we are proud of, as well as all the fireworks we had seen.
-

- We have been historians! We were able to say differences between today and the past. We looked at baby photos and compared them to photos of now and looked at old artefacts such as a type writer, record, video tape and weighing scales and compared them to modern digital scales, laptops and ways of streaming music and films.
-

- We have started reading our very first reading books. We have been practising reading the sounds and saying the words in our books, then re-reading the word once we’ve blended it.
-

- It's been an exciting week - our first PE and Music lesson. In Music we practiced staying in time to the beat, listening to some movement songs and used musical instruments to tap out the beat.
-

- We have done so well this week, settling into our new classes and being in school full time. We have started maths learning and wowed us with how quickly they have learnt to read and write new sounds in phonics. Well done Barn Owls!
-

- We have been busy making beautiful self-portraits - I wonder what we will make next?
-

- We have been absolutely fantastic this week! We have settled in to school really well and have been really busy exploring our new environment. We have made new friends, joined in with craft activities, helped to tidy up and listened well at story time. Such a super start!
